ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tompkins County Sheriff Derek Osborne is in the Thanksgiving spirit.

He says he’s grateful to work in law enforcement.

“I’m just thankful I get the opportunity to serve our community as sheriff,” he says. “I’m thankful for that every day — not just on Thanksgiving.”

Osborne adds he’s thankful for his colleagues.

“We have an outstanding crew at the Sheriff’s Office, both on the road patrol and in corrections,” he says.
