CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office is still having a hard time attracting recruits.

Sheriff Mark Helms says a shortage of deputies creates a new problem.

Sheriff Helms also tells WHCU his department currently has no plans to create an online data dashboard similar to what’s being worked on in the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.
