Tompkins County Sheriff Derek Osborne says Christopher Borges is wanted for an armed robbery in Broome County.

Authorities say the 30-year-old drove a U-Haul truck into Caroline on Slaterville Road, then fled into a wooded area.

Residents nearby were asked to stay inside as deputies fanned the area searching for him. Borges has not been seen since.

He’s a white man, about five-foot-10, and weighs about 160 pounds.

A BB gun was found inside the truck, and Osborne says he doesn’t know if Borges is still armed.

Borges is currently facing robbery and burglary charges in Broome County.
