ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A paving project will limit nearby parking in the City of Ithaca.

City crews are set to begin two weeks of work this Friday on Short Street, which will be closed to through traffic between Franklin Street and West Lincoln Street.

Officials say the excavation depth of existing asphalt required will make entering and exiting driveways in the work zone impossible. The city recommends residents park elsewhere for the project’s duration, which is scheduled to wrap up at the end of the day on May 24 depending on the weather.

Anyone with questions can contact the Department of Public Works Streets and Facilities Division at (607)-272-1718 ext. 4223.
