TRUMANSBURG, N.Y. (WHCU) — A retired police chief in Trumansburg has died.
The village’s police department wrote on their Facebook page that Thomas Ferretti provided many young officers their start in law enforcement.
Ferretti, who retired after 42 years as Trumansburg police chief in 2018, was also actively involved in charitable groups like Cops, Kids, and Toys.
Ferretti’s career as a police officer began at Cornell in 1968 before becoming the top cop in Trumansburg in 1976 until his retirement.
