ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Preliminary results from Tuesday’s school budget votes are coming in.
A $158 million budget for the Ithaca City School District was approved in a vote of 2,395 to 878. Those results will be certified by the school board this evening. Voters in the Newfield Central School District said yes to a $24 million budget and to the purchase of three zero emission electric buses.
Budgets were also approved for Trumansburg, Dryden, Lansing, Groton, Spencer Van Etten, McGraw, Owego-Apalachin, and Seneca Falls.
The Cortland Enlarged City School District has a $54.5 million budget; preliminary results showed the proposition failed in a vote of 452 to 543.
