ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A repair project is slowing traffic down in the City of Ithaca.

Work to replace a manhole cover and the surrounding pavement is underway at the intersection of South Fulton Street and Green Street. Both have been reduced to one lane near the repair area. Officials say the excavation zone will be covered with a plate and the street will reopen overnight on Thursday. The project is scheduled to wrap up around 3:30 on Friday afternoon, depending on the weather.

Officials recommend using an alternate route during work hours.
