ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – An opportunity to learn about birds and migration from an expert in Ithaca.
Renowned Ornithologist, author, and speaker Dr. Stephen Kress is teaching Spring Ornithology through the Cayuga Bird Club. It The 8-week multi-media course focuses on the life of birds, including migration, bird song, behavior, identification, and more. The course is similar to one he taught through the Cornell Lab of Ornithology for more than 40 years. Dr. Kress, the founder of the Audobon’s Project Puffin, brings his passion to the subject. The class is timed to coincide with the arrival of spring migrants.
Dr. Kress says new technology has unlocked migrations information in an unprecedented way, making for a unique and informative class experience.
Dr. Kress will also teach about conservation and how to attract birds, and how they go hand in hand.
The class runs from March 29th through May 17th, meeting every Wednesday night from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It will be held in-person at Kendal at Ithaca or via Zoom.
