ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A member of the Ithaca Police Department says she hears a lot from the public. 

Sergeant Mary Orsaio oversees community outreach. 

Orsaio tells WHCU having an officer patrolling downtown would help. 

In recent years, IPD has had a difficult time retaining and recruiting officers.
