ITHACA, NY (WHCU) – An investigation into a potentially rabid coyote continues today in Ithaca.
The Monkey Run Natural Area of the Cornell Botanical Gardens remains closed while authorities try to gather more information. The area of concern covers the land by Hanshaw Road to the north, Route 13 to the east, Freese Road to the west, and Route 366 to the south.
The Tompkins County Environmental Health Division says multiple people and dogs were reportedly attacked in this area. Anyone who may have come into contact with the coyote is encouraged to call Environmental Health at (607)274-6688.
