NICHOLS, N.Y. (WHCU) – Three people have been arrested in connection to a theft investigation in Tioga County.

Tioga County Sheriff’s deputies recently opened an investigation into three former employees at the Onvo Travel Plaza in Nichols. The trio are accused of stealing over $3,000 in tobacco products from the store from May 26 through June 3 of this year.

47-year-old Shonna Elia, of Spencer, was arrested on August 30 and is charged with felonies of grand larceny and falsifying business records.

45-year-old Melissa Armstrong, of Spencer, was arrested on August 28 and is charged with three counts of misdemeanor petit larceny.

44-year-old Carla Pierce, of Ulster, PA, was arrested on August 25 and charged with one count of misdemeanor petit larceny.

All three will appear in court at a later date.
