OWEGO, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Tioga County man accused of hundreds of sex crimes has been charged.

Authorities from the State Police Owego Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested 47-year-old Matthew Casterline, of Owego, on May 5, 2023, after what they called an ‘exhaustive search’ at the Best Western Hotel on Hickories Park Road where Casterline is employed. Authorities say Casterline was found hiding in the attic of the building.

Casterline is charged with felony sex abuse in the first degree. Casterline is also wanted in by the Sayre Borough Police Department in Pennsylvania on 400 counts of sexually related offenses against a child.
