OWEGO, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Tioga County man is facing multiple charges after a domestic incident.
Authorities say 25-year-old Scott Franks, of Owego, was arrested last week for violating an order of protection and preventing his estranged girlfriend from calling 911. The woman was allegedly able to escape his residence on Lackawanna Avenue and call the police. Franks reportedly had to be forced into the patrol car upon his arrest. He was charged with three misdemeanors for contempt, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.
Then, while at the Owego Police Department, authorities say Franks became violent and damaged property inside. As a result, Franks was additionally charged with a felony count of criminal mischief. Franks will appear in court at a later date.
