CORTLANDVILLE, N.Y. (WHCU) – One man is recovering after a crash in Cortland County.

New York State PoliceState Police responded to Interstate 81 near Cortlandville just after 2:00 p.m. Saturday for the wreck. Initial reports said a motor home had driven off of a bridge, but that was false.

Investigators found a motor home exited the highway and struck a concrete bridge, coming to a rest on the hill under the bridge. Officials say the impact split the vehicle in two.

78-year-old Anthony Ciesla, of Bernhards Bay, was transported to a hospital with lower body injuries. No one else was in the vehicle.
