CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — The cause of a house fire in Cortland has been ruled accidental.

Firefighters responded Saturday evening to the house on Clayton Avenue. They found people inside before locating the fire in the living room. Three dogs were removed but one died from the smoke and heat.

A dozen people in the two-family home are temporarily displaced.
