ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Millions of dollars are headed to Ithaca for road repairs.

Governor Hochul announced Monday $100 million in statewide road repair money covering over 560 miles of pavement. In Ithaca, $8.1 million will go toward resurfacing Meadow and Fulton Street from Elmira Road to the city’s northern line, Buffalo Street from Taughannock Boulevard to Meadow, Seneca Street from Fulton to Meadow, and Green Street from Fulton to Meadow.

A total of $295,000 will fix Route 38B from Route 38 to the Broome County line in the towns of Newark Valley and Owego. In addition, $1 million in state money will be used to resurface Routes 224 and 34 from the Schuyler County line to the Tioga County line in Van Etten. The Southern Tier is getting nearly two million dollars from Albany to resurface roads.

All the work is expected to begin next spring.
