NEWFIELD, N.Y. (WHCU) — Newfield is getting over one million dollars to improve the town’s water infrastructure. 

State Senator Lea Webb says the town will receive more than $900,000 in interest-free loans, and a Water Infrastructure Improvement grant of over $183,000. The money will help to clean drinking water by removing emerging contaminants.

Webb says the work to improve water quality is crucial.
