ALBANY, N.Y. (WHCU) — A new year will mean a new minimum wage in New York.

Starting January 1, the state’s minimum wage rises to 16 dollars an hour in New York City, Long Island, and Westchester while it increases to 15 dollars an hour for the rest of the state.

On the first day of 2025 and 2026, New York’s minimum wage will go up another 50 cents.
