DRYDEN, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Freese Road Bridge that connects Dryden and Varna has been closed for a few years. It’s meant the estimated 2,000 vehicles that crossed the bridge have had to find other ways of getting around.

Deputy Dryden Town Supervisor Dan Lamb says that’s going to change.

State officials are reviewing designs for a new bridge.

Lamb expects construction of the new bridge to begin in May 2025.
