ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Congressman Marc Molinaro has some questions about migrants and money for Governor Kathy Hochul.

In a letter sent to the governor’s office late last month, Molinaro wanted to know how Hochul intended to pay for the transport and housing of migrants in the 11-county 19th Congressional district. Molinaro, who is a Republican, gave the Democratic governor a deadline of Monday to reply but has not received a response.

Also, an emergency order in Tioga County has been extended through Friday.

It’s the latest in a series of emergency orders issued by Legislative Chair Martha Sauerbrey over a possible influx of asylum seekers arriving in the county. A state of emergency was declared in Tioga County back on May 11. This extension is the fifth since May 16.
