CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — Cortland’s Common Council are stepping back a bit from deciding on the future of the Parker school building on Madison Street.

Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services has proposed reimagining the building into housing for people with a modest income. Mayor Scott Steve says City Hall is taking another look at the proposition.

The proposal from INHS is the only one that was submitted.

Parker Elementary School closed a few years ago, but the property is still being maintained by the city at a price of about $100,000 a year.
