ALBANY, NY (WHCU) – Domestic violence service providers in New York will benefit from grants.

Governor Kathy Hochul says $5 million is going directly to 65 advocacy groups across the state to support critical needs. It’s part of the Survivors Access Financial Empowerment (SAFE) fund established in this year’s budget as a recurring money stream for domestic violence survivors.

The Advocacy Center of Tompkins County, Cortland YWCA, and A New Hope Center in Tioga County are all receiving funding.
