ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Who will be Ithaca’s first city manager?
In November, voters overwhelmingly approved a referendum that will change the structure of government in Ithaca. Instead of the current Mayor-Common Council style, a city manager will lead day-to-day operations and report to the Common Council. The mayor would then have a vote during Common Coucil meetings.
Mayor Laura Lewis tells WHCU the process is now in the early stage.
The mayor expects the city manager position will begin next January.
