LANSING, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tompkins County is celebrating a decorated veteran.
Thursday, August 10 will officially be George “Gus” Isaac Day. Legislator Mike Sigler says the Lansing resident has a long list of accomplishments.
“Isaac served in World War II and has been awarded the Bronze Star, Purple
Heart, and Knight of the French Foreign Legion of Honor Medal — France’s highest Military honor — and earned the Division Patch, Overseas Patch, French Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Medal, and Middle Eastern Campaign Medal,” he says.
Isaac turns 100 one week from today.
