ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — One Tompkins County leader says it’s hard to keep track of this year’s mass shootings.

Legislator Anne Koreman is affected by the violence.

“It’s traumatizing for me to hear about it, I’m sure it’s traumatizing to a lot of people,” she says. “And of course it’s extremely traumatizing to the people who have lost their loved ones.”

Koreman says over 200 mass shootings have happened this year. She wants to see stricter gun laws.

Sunday marked one year since the tragedy in Buffalo.
