TRUMANSBURG, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Trumansburg Board of Education is expected to vote this month on proposed layoffs.

The Ithaca Times reports budget cuts and decreased state funding are reasons cited for potentially laying off several teachers at the end of June. Positions on the chopping block are reportedly low on the list of seniority.

Enrollment in the district has also declined about 10-percent since the 2019 to 2020 school year. Trumansburg’s school board meets April 16.
