ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A current member of Ithaca’s Common Council seeks an additional term.

Kris Haines-Sharp has announced a run in the redistricted Second Ward for a two-year term.
She says she will prioritize Reimagining Public Safety recommendations and the Green New Deal in a new term.
In a news release announcing her candidacy on Tuesday, Haines-Sharp said, “I am running because I want Ithaca to be a city where residents are able to live long term, young people are meaningfully engaged and heard, and city workers are supported for their commitment to a vibrant and well-functioning Ithaca.”
Haines-Sharp was appointed last month to fill a seat in the Fifth Ward through the rest of 2023. She serves on the City Administration Committee.
