ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Assemblymember Anna Kelles is calling on her peers in Albany to pass two bills that address New York’s criminal justice system.
Kelles seeks the passage of Fair and Timely Parole and Elder Parole. The Democrat, who represents the Assembly’s 125th district, says the bills gives incarcerated people a chance to be seen by parole boards to demonstrate their transformation.
Kelles adds neither bill is a ‘free pass out of prison.’
