ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A park in Ithaca has officially been recognized as a place of historical significance in the United States.
Stewart Park has been added to the National Register of Historic Places, after being added to the State Register earlier this spring.

The designation ensures the park located on the southern shore of Cayuga Lake and its buildings will be preserved. It also makes the park eligible for grant funding. Stewart Park was one of 13 properties in New York that were nominated earlier this year.
