ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — In Ithaca, affordable housing is not easy to find. 

First Ward Alderperson George McGonigal tells us it’s a root issue in the city’s homelessness problem. 

McGonigal adds some people choosing to live outside want to call their own shot. 

In addition, McGonigal says trailers with hot showers and toilets will be added later this year.
