ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Ithaca’s acting police chief has advice for the person who will succeed him.

John Joly tells WHCU the city’s next police chief should be ready.

Joly became acting chief in April 2021 but was rejected by the Common Council last year when Mayor Laura Lewis appointed him as permanent chief. City officials are conducting a nationwide search.
