ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A collaboration between Ithaca Police and Tompkins County Whole Health is coming closer to fruition.

Officials are making progress on a co-response team for crisis situations. Acting Police Chief Ted Schwartz says a professional clinician would work with officers.

He says the clinician would initially work daytime hours.

On Wednesday, Ithaca’s City Administration Committee approved a resolution for the co-response team.
