ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Ithaca is looking for help melting ice jams.
The city’s DPW office has applied for a permit with New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation, which is a state requirement. City officials say they want to discharge treated wastewater in Fall and Cascadilla Creeks to melt ice jams.
A public information meeting is being held next Monday at the start of the Sustainability and Climate Justice Commission meeting.
