ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Ithaca plans to softly launch a homeless encampment this spring.
Alderperson George McGonigal says it’ll have barebones infrastructure to start.
“The showers and the office space will be basically like construction trailers,” he says. “If it works well, then there may be more infrastructure in following years.”
The site is set for behind Walmart. The city plans to hire contractors to manage the encampment.
