ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Optimism is growing for the homeless alliance between Ithaca and Tompkins County.

Alderperson George McGonigal says the city thinks highly of the county’s recent hire.

“We’re very encouraged by the fact the county has hired Tammy Baker,” he says. “Very few people know more than Tammy about the homeless situation.”

Baker began her role as homeless services coordinator in May.
