ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The brother of an Ithaca woman slain last week in Virginia is speaking out.

Emanuel Espada says the legal system failed Tatiana David, the 34-year-old single mother allegedly abducted by her ex-boyfriend last week on West Hill Circle. Espada adds Michael Davis, the ex-boyfriend, is a “monster” and no one would listen to his sister.

David died during a shoot-out last Wednesday night between Virginia state troopers and Davis, who was wounded. Davis remains hospitalized in serious condition.
