ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A traffic stop has resulted in felony charges for an Ithaca man.

A Tompkins County Sheriff’s deputy working a Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) detail pulled William Ellison over on Coy Glen Road around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The deputy says they found 9 grams of meth, 5 grams of crack, and 1 gram of fentanyl while searching the 41-year-old Ellison’s car. Additionally, Ellison is alleged to have had a loaded .380 handgun in the vehicle.

Ellison is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon. He was remanded to the Tompkins County Corrections Division without bail.

Ellison is scheduled to appear in Ithaca Town Court on Monday at 9 a.m.
