ITHACA, NY (WHCU) – An Ithaca man is facing multiple charges after an alleged domestic incident and police chase.

Ithaca Police responded to West Clinton Street around 1:15 a.m. after a victim accused Takiem Foat of trying to enter their residence by smashing out a window with the butt of a handgun. Foat fled before IPD arrived, but officers observed him driving by and initiated a traffic stop.

IPD says Foat sped away and was eventually taken into custody when he crashed through a fence between First Street and North Meadow Street.

Foat is charged with felony attempted burglary and seven misdemeanors, including criminal mischief, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, menacing, obstructing governmental administration, aggravated unlicensed operator, and two counts of reckless driving.

More charges are likely, and the investigation is ongoing.
