HOMER, N.Y. (WHCU) – An Ithaca man awaits his day in court after a crash in Homer.

Around 1:05 a.m. on May 5, State Police responded to a report of a vehicle off the roadway on Interstate 81. Troopers say Nathan Alex Williams’ car was still running and he was “slumped over the steering wheel” when they arrived.

The 30-year-old Williams was allegedly found with a loaded, illegally modified handgun in the vehicle. He was arrested and taken to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center for evaluation. After his release, he was arraigned at the Cortland County Jail.

Williams faces charges of felony criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanor unlawful possession of certain ammunition feeding devices, and misdemeanor DWI.
