ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – An Ithaca man faces charges after leading authorities on a foot chase through Walmart.
The Ithaca Police Department was called to the store Thursday afternoon at approximately 2:38 p.m. Employees believed a man was attempting to use stolen credit cards to make purchases.
Upon arrival, 28-year-old Isaiah Foster was exiting the store and fled back inside against verbal commands. He briefly fled through the store, knocking merchandise off shelves while running before being taken into custody. Officials say Foster allegedly physically resisted the police officer as well.
Foster was charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property for the credit cards, and two misdemeanors including resisting arrest. He was charged with an additional count of felony criminal possession of stolen property for a previous incident that occurred in the City of Ithaca. Officials say more charges from previous incidents are likely. Foster was later turned over to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s custody for an arrest warrant.
