ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — An Ithaca man faces charges of attempted murder and burglary.
Police say 64-year-old Kenneth Hallett tried killing his next door neighbor with a knife Friday afternoon in an apartment building on South Plain Street. Another person suffered a cut to their arm in the building.
Hallett was arrested at the scene and was taken to the Tompkins County Jail on charges of attempted murder, burglary, and assault. Bail was set at $100,000 cash. The two victims were treated for injuries that authorities say are not life threatening.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday in Ithaca City Court.
