ITHACA, NY (WHCU) — Ithaca city officials want to hear from you about a proposed housing bill.
A public hearing on good cause evictions is part of this evening’s Common Council meeting. Alderpersons are mulling legislation which would offer a layer of protection for tenants by protecting them from unreasonable rent hikes while also offering equitable protection for landlords.
The council plans to vote on the new local law at their meeting on July 10. Tonight’s hearing starts shortly after the Common Council gathers at City Hall at 6 p.m.
