ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Ithaca Police are charging two men with having drugs.

Officers responded to a dispute Wednesday afternoon on Cayuga Park Lane. Two men were seen walking away from the area when they were stopped by IPD. Police say 50-year-old Anthony Zeigler of Brooklyn and 49-year-old Juan Breton of Ithaca both had drugs, which they tried getting rid of.

According to IPD, “Zeigler possessed approximately 54 grams of fentanyl, and a small amount of cocaine that he attempted to destroy while on scene prior to his arrest. Breton possessed an undetermined amount of narcotics, packaged for sale, which he ingested prior to his arrest in an attempt to conceal and destroy evidence.”

The pair are charged with tampering with physical evidence – a felony – and Zeigler is also charged with both a felony and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance. They’re now in Tompkins County jail without bail.
