ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – One woman is facing charges after quick police work in Ithaca.

Authorities responded to the area of Geneva Street and Seneca Street around 9:00 a.m. today for a report of a robbery. A victim claimed their personal bag was forcibly taken by a woman who approached them by surprise. The suspect was described as a white woman with a thin build, around 5’7″ with blonde hair, and dressed in all black.

The bag was later located outside of a nearby apartment building in the 300 block of West Buffalo Street. Ithaca Police reviewed security footage, which showed a woman matching the suspect’s description entering the building. The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Caitlin Albrecht and arrested. Albrecht is charged with felony robbery and is still currently awaiting arraignment.

IPD found two other people inside with unrelated active warrants and arrested them. Angelina Ward, wanted for felony burglary and misdemeanor trespassing, was held in Tompkins County Jail on $ 1,000 cash bail. Dustin White, wanted for felony burglary, was arraigned and will appear in court at a later date.
