ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Ithaca Fire Department had added two new firefighters.

At a ceremony earlier this month, IFD also celebrated a new deputy fire chief and the promotion of four members. In February, firefighters Keven Morse and Trey Sincock were hired. They have completed their time at the fire academy. Also this year, Robert Covert was appointed the department’s new chief.

Ithaca Mayor Laura Lewis and State Senator Lea Webb both read proclamations at the December 9 ceremony in recognition of the Ithaca Fire Department’s 200th anniversary.
