CORTLANDVILLE, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Homer woman is facing charges in a fraud investigation.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office was called to Harbor Freight Tools Store in Cortlandville on January 18th, 2023, for a report of fraud. 45-year-old Margaret Hollenbeck, an employee, is accused of making false returns for merchandise she never purchased, crediting the cost of the items to herself.

Hollenbeck turned herself in at the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, February 13, 2023. She’s charged with 9 counts of felony falsifying business records and 9 misdemeanors of petit larceny. She’s due in Town of Cortlandville Court on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023, at 11:30 a.m.
