HOMER, N.Y. (WHCU) — Homer firefighters are participating in the Cortland County mutual aid plan.

Fire Chief Jay Riley believes collaboration is key.

“We rely heavy on [mutual aid], especially for manpower,” he says.

The plan allows crews to provide outside service to other departments. Homer trustees gave the OK on Tuesday.
