HOMER, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Homer Central School District is bidding farewell to its longtime football coach.

Gary Podsiedlik has announced this week his retirement after more than four decades in the program, including 34 years as head coach. During his tenure, Podsiedlik led the Trojans to 19 league titles and seven Section III championships.

“It has been an amazing 41 years, and I will forever be grateful that I was assigned to Homer Schools in the early 1980s for my secondary mathematics fieldwork,” said Podsiedlik. “Thank you all for allowing me to serve as the head coach of our historic program.”
