ALBANY, N.Y. (WHCU) — Ahead of a busy travel weekend, Governor Hochul is suspending all construction-related lane closures.
Noting that Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, Hochul says road and bridge projects on all state highways will pause today until Tuesday.
“We are suspending construction on state roads to help ease traffic and ensure that everyone is able to reach their destination safely and with minimal delays. I urge everyone traveling this weekend to do their part by planning ahead and driving responsibly.”
An estimated 42.3 million people are expected to hit the road at some point this weekend.
