ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Tompkins County Whole Health’s Environmental Health Division is seeking information about a dog in Ithaca.
Someone was bitten around 1:00 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Dey Street, Hancock Street, and Auburn Street near the playground. The dog is described as a large, tan and white, short haired hound or pit bull mix with a half white and half tan face and floppy ears. The dog was being walked on a leash by a young black man with shorter hair, possibly in his 20s.
Health officials seek to verify the dog’s vaccination status to rule out rabies treatment for the victim. Anyone with info is asked to contact Environmental Health at (607) 274-6688.
